Homecoming 1970 started with a 'bang' commonly known as the ral- ly to downtown lVlclVlinnville. This years combination rally and noise parade was held Wednesday and hosted the announcements of the Queen and her court. lt was fol- lowed by a sock hop in honor of the Queen at the high school. This years theme for homecoming was Conquer the King of Beasts, for the game with the St. Helens Lions. During the Friday pep as- sembly the award winners for de- corating downtown windows were announced. As tradition has it, the sophomores won 1st place with the juniors and seniors placing next. Due to the concern for ecology this year there was no homecoming bonfire. But that didn't put out the spirits of the students as they so 'capably supported their team. 1970 Homecoming court consists of left to right, Sophomore princess Marsha Col- vin, Senior princess Marcia Wright, Queen Jerri Westfall the lst, Senior princess Danna Miller, and Junior princess Cindy Westfall.
