Highlights 1912 A rousing pep assembly, an intellectual speaker from Linfield College, and a much anticipated junior-senior prom — these are all highlights of school life. All events other than the regular academic program and athletics are remembered as the highlights of a year. Fifty years ago, school life was usually connected either directly or indirectly with the learning process. Activities were often organized to supplement school courses. Today we realize that a change from the daily routine is beneficial and necessary. Much effort is given to bringing distinguished speakers who often tell of ways of life or thinking that we are not familiar with. Fine music adds to the cultural education of the students. Of course, the annual school dances ore anticipated and attended with great enthusiasm, and are considered big events of the year. One begins to realize as he reflects over highlights that school life is the whole life for many students.
