seniors graduate, leaving behind an active record Active is the word for the senior class of ’55, and a glimpse of all four years will show this. As freshmen, this hard working class rebuilt a bonfire to prove that they wouldn’t let defeat stand in their way. During the sophomore year, the class outsold the other classes in ticket sales for the one-act plays. They received the coveted iron lung trophy in their junior year, a result of raising the most money for the March of Dimes. The long looked for senior year got off to a good start as these seniors presented an old-fashioned melodrama, the “Streets of New York.” A touch of realism was added by the oleo acts between scenes. The Reverend Elery Parrish spoke at the Baccalaureate services which were held at the First Baptist Church. The class chose as their motto, “The future is a world, limited only by ourselves.” The carnation was chosen as the class flower, and pink and silver were chosen as the colors. SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS. SEATED: President Wayne Cody. STANDING: Vice-President Earl Greiner. Secretary Colleen Weiss. Treasurer Vivian Wiser. Sergeant-At-Arms George Miller, anticipating seniors' big night, graduation, take fittings for their caps and gowns. 18
