Foreword Dear Students: ln this, your annual, we the editors and staff, have attempted to give you a glimpse of outstanding activities and clubs from the school year of 1948-1949. We can never forget this school year, with its laughter, disappointments, and anxiety. ln years to come we'll look back on such events as the basketball and football games. The games wouldn't have' been right without the weekly pep assemblies that were kept going by our vivacious song and yell leaders, and the corny Collect-O-Pep skits. Nor will we forget those yellow slips for first period tardiness, the worry over dates for the G. A. A. Dance and the junior-Senior Prom, the terrible rush for the cafeteria line, or the voice of Mr. Skinner over the P. A. system. Yes, this was a won- derful school year. We hope you the readers enjoy this annual as much as we the staff enjoyed making it for you. Much credit is due to Merril Lewis for his faithfulness in rounding up write- ups: to Millie Engle for her clever art work: to Virginia Ruffner for her many hours spent on feature articles: to Priscilla Tennis for her all around good work: to George Baumgardner for his outstanding pictures: to Bruce Brown'for athletic statistics: to John Waugaman for hard work gathering advertisements: to Mr. Dawson, our advisor: and to the entire staff for their good work. We hope this annual will help you reminisce in the years to come. Sincerely yours, BEVERLY WITHYCOMBE, Editor. nedieqiien A Miss Ethel Hamblin Miss Audrey Showalter We the students of Mac Hi lovingly dedicate this annual to two of our most re- spected and beloved teachers, Miss Hamblin, and Miss Showalter.
