Quilliam, Sully, Palmer, Pounds Senior Class The senior class of 1948 was outstanding in many ways. Under the leadership of President Pete Palmer, Vice-President Shirley Quilliam, Secretary Twila Pounds, and Sergeant-at-Arms Gordon Sully. They sponsored and took part in many activities. They carried on the traditional freshman initiation, presented a highly successful class play entitled “Peg O' My Heart,” and had a fun-packed flunk day. They also sponsored a Valentine Dance at the end of Twerp Week. The class was well represented in all school organizations, and the athletic teams were largely made up of senior boys. Betty Engel was chosen as the school’s D.A.R. representative, and thirteen members of the class were elected as charter members in the National Honor Society.
