P ramid Staff Thomas, Brockett. Cottingham. Miss Garrett. Browning. Mayberry. Broyles. Hood, Ingram. Robertson, Hamilton. The Pyramid Staff for l955-56 was chosen last spring by our sponsor, Miss Garrett. The Pyramid Staff began its yearly work by becoming acquainted with the engrayers dummy, The staff learned to mount pictures and how to write write-ups. The photographer came to take pictures and the staff was busy getting the students together for these pictures. The first week in October the staff was again busy selling annuals. Robertson, Mr, Stall. 3rd row: Walker, Upton, Lee, Sloan, McDonald, Burnett, Smith, Parker, Stelle, lanes, Mingus, Meadows. Football Football serves, as nothing else in the school does, to promote school spirit and to unite the students in a feeling of loyalty for each other, for the team, and for the school. As the season progressed, the team became a well-drilled, hard-driving team, which acted with the precision of a fine Watch. Most of the plays were run from the T formation. The line, Weighing more this year than usual, did a splendid job in opening up the vital holes tor the ball carriers and in stop- ping the foe's offensive thrusts. Possibly one of the greatest difficulties of the team was the lack ot experience. The Foxes got off to a slow start as they didn't score until the fourth game against Cahokia. The seniors on the squad this year were Stephen Bell, Charles Hatcher, lohn Ingram, Bill Nalley, Bob McMahon, Keith lones. lt is difficult to single out any individual star from the Foxes for they did not Work as individuals but as a team. Coach Siville did a very nice job of coaching with Mr. Staff's assistance. Bell served as captain, with Hall as co-captain. They did a good job in lead- ing the Foxes through the entire season.
