Science Club The M.T.l-l.S. Science Club is one of the oldest clubs in our school, having been organized in l932, by one of its present sponsors, Miss Woodruff. The aims of this organization are to arouse general interest and appreciation of modern science. The 75 science club members and their sponsors have had a very event- ful year. The members of this club have been quite active, and interest in the scientific field has increased through their efforts. This increase of interest plus the encouragement of students in their individual scentific pursuits is the purpose of this club. Variety in the programs this year has promoted en- thusiasm in the organization. The members have enjoyed lectures by local people associated with the field of science. Program committees made up of the members plan the program for each meeting. There was a new program committee every month, The officers Were: president, Donald Donelson, viceepresident, Wayne Smith, secretary and treasurer, Myrna Evans. 6512

Mrs. Witter, Mrs. Bamhcxrt, Myers The main purpose of the FHA. is to further interest in home economics and provide whole- some individual and group recreation. The chapter projects this year were: To increase participation in community projects. A new piece of equipment for the home- making department, lncrease the chapters equipment, The state projects they participated in were l:'.H.A. Satety Hint for Today in the local newspaper and the Civil Defense Program in the assembly. The national projects were the selling of UNESCO stamps and families together. There were 52 girls in Rl-LA. this year and the officers were as follows: President, ludy Myers, sophomore, vice- president, Shirley Rubnacker, seniorg secretary- treasurer, Dana Cottingham, senior, historian, Donna johnson, sophomore, parliamentarian, Laura Boyer, seniorg projects chairman, Sue Smedley, sophomore, song leaders, Yvonne Little, Ianice Duncan, sponsor, Mrs. Mary Ruth Witter.
