Future Business Leaders of America The F.B.L.A. is one of the newest clubs in this high school, also, one ot the busiest. The programs were educational as well as entertaining. These programs included bus- iness tours, demonstrations, and a talk by a business man. The F.B.L.A. managed the business end of the magazine sales campaign. The money making projects handled by the F.B.L.A. in- cluded the candy and pencil vending machines. The one big project this year was the Spring Carnival which they co-sponsored with the Thrifty Shop Club. They also gave the assem- bly program in March. The club this year was organized in September and the following boys were elected officers for i955-56. President, Keith lonesg viceepresident, Leon l-lall, secretary, Stephen Bellg treasurer, fesse Smith, parliamentarian, Deon Allardin, and sergeant-at-arms, Bill Ingram. Shortly after this Years club was organized, they had an initiation party and twenty-tive new mem- bers were initiated. This is the third year that the Thrifty Shop Club has been a member of the Illinois lndustrial Education Club. Later in the year, the club and the Future l-lomemakers of America had a Halloween Party together. ln March the shop club had a convention with five different clubs in the area. They had their meeting, ate lunch, and had a basketball tournament. The all-star carnival held March 23 in conjunction with the F.B.L.A. was a success. Many people attended and it was enjoyed by everyone. This year at the football games the shop club, in spite of the lack ot a building and the cold weather, served with a concession stand. 44462
