At the initiation the girls wore formals and the boys wore suits and ties, Members took the Thespian oath in front of the lighted To enter the society one must have earned ten or more points for either being in a play or being on the production staff and having appeared on the stage in at least one pro- duction. For each additional ten points a Thespian receives a gold star. Thespian members are entitled to eight months subscription to the Dramatics Magazine. This year the Thespian troupe has almost doubled its enrollment due to the greater interest the students have taken in dramatics. This year the Thespians are sponsored by Miss Sidna Mullineaux, who is doing a good job. Last year at the initiation party, the following people were elected as the officers for the year of 1955-55. Per Se, our local language club, was originated this year by the sponsor and teacher of Latin, Miss Berenice Dixon. This was the first time We have had a language club for many years. The club met the 7th period on club days and discussed noted Romans, sang songs in Latin, and many other things. The club sincerely Wishes to again thank Miss Dixon for organizing our language club. The Dramatics Club is one ot our popular clubs. To belong one must either be taking speech or have already taken it, there- fore only juniors and seniors can be members. The Dramatics Club officers tor this year elected last year and the tollowing students were chosen: president, Fred Brockettg president, Carlos Nealg secretary, Carolyn Fagang and treasurer, Doyle Lee, Doyle and Carlos were elected this year in the absence of the original vice-president and treasurer. This year the Dramatics Club has a new sponsor, Miss Mullineaux, a newcomer to our faculty. During the year the Dramatics Club puts on plays and assembly programs. The purpose of the Dramatics Club is to encourage students to be interested in dramatics.
