It tasted alike to us Ifheaven won t help us, what will happen? Don't judge Cook Coleman too harshly because Farmer Magee is the one who furnishes the food with which she is to cook You d think he would know something about the conservation of soil and the rotation of crops, but he doesn t I don t think he even learned anythmg about agrlculture in school You should see some of the animals he calls his beef cattle They look like walking skeletons and it is no wonder t.hat the meat is tough His horses are just as bad You can't tell whether it is a pre historic animal or a walking turnip with crooked tree limb legs or a badly broken bird that can t fly l! The theme of the banquet was The Gay Nlnetles' , lndln our humble opinion, ltwasthebest ever held in the history of M H S made pictures of the individual members of the class and of our sponsors. , - K ! Early in the year, we joined the Texas High School Press Association, sponsored by the Texas State College for Women, at Denton, Texas Our sponsor and three members of the class attended the annual convention of this organization at Denton in December and brought back a great many suggestions for the improvement of our publications Both The Tlger Post and The Tumbleweed were appraised by the association, the former being judged second best of four mimeographed high school papers given All Texas Rating while the latter was rated as good and given a grade of 88 n anuary 30 of this year, one of our editorials, 'Our Country Town , written by Charlene Roach, was reprinted in The McLean News and later appeared in the 'Talks From Towns' column of The Fort Worth Star Telegram. We have worked hard, and at times under adverse circumstances, but we feel that our efforts have been appreciated by the majority of the students, for we have received much praise, and very little unfavorable criticism. Kimmins who resigned at mid term to enter private business The Senior trip has been traditionall avisitto Carlsbad Caverns This year however, the class plans are to make a tour of Southern Texas This trip is the result of a Galveston or Bust ' cam paign by the class which included their ma.ny activities during the latter part of the year Many new clubs have been formed dur ing the year and they have added both interest and pleasure to our work Phe Dramatic Club, consisting of the English Il students, and sponsored by Miss Gallegly, has presented a number of plays in assemblies, the plays having been written and directed by the mem bers of the club The English Club was organized by Mrs Back and consists of Juniors and Sen- iors who make a six weeks average of KIA!! The Junior Play, 'Twixteen 'was pre sented April 27 in the high school auditorium, andthe Senior Class pre- sented ' The Campbells Are Coming' on May 8 One of the outstanding aspects orf school life this year was the band. We remember, though, the fine training we ve been given by our parents, our Churches, and our school That training has given us something to hold to, something solid that is going to help us when we make our first real entrance into the world. We're approaching graduation day sorrowful because we ll be separa ted from familiar things, and happy because we've been given enough to boostusto afine place beside other, whom we shall soon know, in the world.
