SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Cape Kennedy Testing Grounds Electronic Computer Center Cape Kennedy, Florida To Whom It May Concern: My associate and I have been working on an invention. While testing this new machine we came across an in- teresting result. The following is a report we made about this discovery: While running tests to penetrate the time barrier, we came across the whereabouts of our classmates of 1967. We found Terri Ross making airplane reservations for that budding star, Miss Brenda Longworth, and her film di- rector, Mr. Ron Follis. They are on their way abroad to entertain the troops of the famous Air Force General. J. D. Starkey. As our machine turned to the family scene, we found the former Misses Linda Taylor and Jeane Foust gossiping over the backyard fence, while their children played. On their way home from their IAA branch office, Donna Burns and Connie Coyle stopped to tell their friends that their old classmate, English Professor. Sandra Smith, is giving the commencement address at Green University that evening. All of a sudden, due to increased activity, the machine began to smoke. We peered into the tele-a-screen only to see that notorious Bobby Baker being thrown out of the elite Pitts Playboy Club by that hefty bartender, David Sherman. It seems that Mr. Baker was bothering one of Mr. Pitt's bikini models, Miss Janice Austin. As the machine cooled down, we traveled on into the future. We finally found ourselves at a fund-raising bas- ketball game at the new school district 16. In the audience we recognized some more of our classmates, Miss Carol Beyer, third grade teacher, and Miss 3onnie Demling, head of the Business Department. Also, we caught sight of Bev Bode, executive secretary to the superintendent. It seems that a basketball game was scheduled between the male faculty and Dan Bristow’s world famous Harlem Magicians. During the course of the rough game, the star player received a wrist injury. Lieutenant Judy Schumm, head Surgical Nurse on leave from Walter Reed Army Hospital, rushed to the floor. She was assisted by Judy Crutchley, a Psychiatric Therapist. Moving to the industrial area, we found John Dennison, co-owner of Midway Standard Oil Company inspecting one of his large refineries with his chief foreman, Bob Burns. Bonnie Spaulding was also working there in the Art and Advertising Department. John's firm has been working on some new petroleum textiles which are being made into fashions to be modeled by the world-famous beauty, Miss Nancy Haning. The computer then transported us to the office of Dorothy Summers, D.D.S. , who was filling a cavity for the owner of one of the largest candy factories in the country, Miss Joyce Troyer. Cathy Fox was seated at the recep- tionist desk. As the years rolled before us, we noted Miss Marla Morrison, great debator and Governor of the State of Illi- nois, attending a farm show in connection with National Conservation Week. Gary Freeman, owner of Pet Dairy Company was exhibiting his prize-winning dairy herd. Other classmates present were Paul Wampler, owner of a large International farm implement business, and Gary Dean, who was showing horses from his large ranch. A ban- quet was to be held to conclude the Conservation program. Pam McCubbin, guest director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, was to be the evening's entertainment. Having a hair appointment with the beautician of the year, Linda Glaser, and a dress fitting with Kathy Winstead, designer for Dior Originals before the banquet, the Governor bidded farewell. Due to some technical difficulty the computer began to spit sparks, and contact with the future was temporarily lost. Although the reliability of our experimental machine may not be lOCP o dependable, we enjoyed our brief exploit into the future. Sincerely, Candy Canfield and Larry Heck Electrical-Astronomical Engineers NASA
