SENIOR CLASS POEM Remember the fun we’ve had here, Remember when you're away, Remember the friends we’ve made here, And don’t forget to come back some day. Nancy Haning, our Homecoming Queen, With an ISU freshman can often be seen. Larry Heck, a hard-working lad. While on the farm helps his dad. Janice Austin, quiet and blond. Everyone knows of whom she 's fond. Bobby Baker, though not from the Senate, Would like to see the Cards win the pennant. Carol Beyer, president of our band, Can always be counted on to lend a helping hand. Beverly Bode, our best bowler by far, Can oft' be found in Atlanta driving a car. Dan Bristow, a fine athlete. In any sport is hard to beat. Bobby Bums, quiet and shy, From him we never hear a sigh. Donna Bums, laughing and gay. Will soon be employed by IAA. Candy Canfield, our engineer to be. She’ll succeed you wait and see. To Connie Coyle the honor goes. Of blushing the quickest just like a rose. Judy Crutchley with never a frown, Keeps everyone laughing as our class clown. Gary Dean, who appears quite shy, Is really a nice, all-around guy. Bonnie Demling could put on a style review, She's always popping out in something new. John Dennison, dark and tall, Tried his hand this year at basketball. Ron Follis, who talks real slow, Was a big hit in our Christmas show. Jeane Foust, soon to be a bride, Her long, blond hair seems to be her pride. Cathy Fox, always so merry. Is planning to be a secretary. Gary Freeman? Well, a good name is stringbean. Few places that he and his car haven't seen. Linda Glaser, whose nickname is Tink , Is a great girl; don’t you think? Brenda Longworth, who is musically inclined, At IWU you’ll be able to find. Pam McCubbin, cheerful as a bird, Heck seems to be her favorite word. Marla Morrison, who is Europe bound, Can with a certain senior boy be found. There's one thing in this school that can’t be beat, And that is Bobby Pitt's feet. Terri Ross, if given a chance, Would turn every party into a dance. Judy Schumm, a very talkative lass, Comes in late to every class. David Sherman, known as Ally’’ to all, Can often be found having a ball. Sandy Smith, a charming lass. Gets the best grades in the senior class. Then there’s Bonnie Spaulding, who best part of the day. Is getting a letter from far away. M-W’s Jeff Starkey is pretty fast, And therefore has an athletic past. Dorothy Summers with short, curly hair, Never seems to have a care. Linda Taylor, quite a jewel, Will be very glad to get out of school. Joyce Troyer, who is a Western fan, Enjoys dating a Rich man. Paul Wampler, our shot put man, Has become a mod clothes fan. Kathy Winstead, so precise and neat. Is a diligent student and hard to beat. Remember the orange and the blue. And all our fond memories, too. Let your heart belong to M-W, For M-W belongs to you!

I. Bob Baker, do will my broad jump ability to Don Furman. I, Carol Beyer, do will to Marvin Organ the skill of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. I, Bev Bode, do will to Lea Ann Weidinger the ability to get along with those special Coiaws. I, Dan Bristow, do will to Monty Shaffer my ability to skip school and go fishing. I, Bob Burns, do will to Russell Terrell all my good times as a Senior. Live it up. Russell! I, Donna Burns, do will to Dessie Carey my dark complexion. I. Candy Canfield, do will to Scon Buck the privilege of having your father on the school board. I, Connie Coyle, do will my extra pounds to Aria Garr. I, Judy Crutchley. do will to Rita Nelson my ability to get along with Mrs. Ferree. I, Gary Dean, do will to Chris Harrell my safe driving ability. Be careful, Chris! I. Bonnie Demling, do will the Student Council Gavel to Jim Lynch. Keep them in line. Jimmy! I, John Dennison, do will to Mark McLane my pack of Marl- boros I left in my locker. 1, Ron Follis, do will to Roger Smith the St. Louis Cardinals. Hope you have a good season! I, Jeane Foust, do will to Patty Bristow my hair color. Hope you have as much luck with it as I did! I, Cathy Fox, do will to Vicki Billington my position in the of- fice fourth hour. Have fun pestering the teachers. Vicki! I, Gary Freeman, do will to Steve Boswell my parking place in the parking lot. Watch that loose gravel, Steve! I. Linda Glaser, do will my popularity with boys to Nancy Bil- liter. I, Nancy Haning, do will my banquet speech to the highest bidder. I. Larry Heck, do will to Tim Burger my locker in the main hall. I. Brenda Longworth. do will to Becky Walters and Janice Shaf- fer the ability to get cough drops from Mr. Lasswell in times of need. I, Pam McCubbin, do will to Peggy Mann the ability to hold hands in the hallway without getting caught. I. Marla Morrison, do will my athletic ability to Jean Ann Fulk. Hope you set more records than I did! I, Bob Pitts, do will to Mark Nevtus my ability to get along with the Waynesville mothers. I, Terri Ross, do will to Bob Bode the ability to get along with a certain Atlanta boy. I. Judy Schumm, do will to Bill Demling the ability to sleep through government class undisturbed. I, Dorothy Summers, do will to Susan Bristow my old typing practice set. I, Linda Taylor, do will to Leslie Shifflet my ability to get along with Mrs. Quay. I, Joyce Troyer, do will to Vicki Nettleton the ability to run the 1 4 mile track in ten minutes. I, Paul Wampler, do will to Tom Braid the ability to sleep in Physics class with my eyes, ears, and book open. I, Kathy Winstead, do will to Nanette Johnson the ability to make yourself heard on Bus One. To the class of 1968, we leave our acute case of senioritis. To the class of 1969, we leave the privilege of finally be- coming upper classmen. To the class of 1970, we leave your freedom from being the humble servants of our class. To the class of 1971, we leave our best wishes for a memor- able and sucessful four years of high school. To the faculty and administration, we leave the memory of the pitter-patter of little feet and the soft echoing of voices in the halls. And to MWHS and its board of education, we leave not only our books, desks, and lockers, but our sincere gratitude for the educational and social opportunities that you have given us.
