Looking back over four years of high school, different people remember different things. None of the seniors could ever forget the Senior play or the Junior play. The prom will al- ways be remembered by all of the seniors, and they will remember the skip day during the last week of school. Ask any Senior, and he will probably be happy to tell you about the Senior trip. Graduation and Baccalaureate will be among the most vivid memories. Besides these memories of high school which all the Seniors share, each Senior has some special thing that he or she will cherish. Ken Smiley will always remember the day Mr. Leach picked him up by the shirt collar and started shaking him. Teresa Danczak's most memorable moment was when she attended the All State Music Festival in Champaign. Jerry Barr can't forget the day Miss Berry threw him out of class for saying a naughty word when he made a typing error. Chuck Johnson remembers the day fifteen of the boys skipped school and went to Fox's house to watch the State Basketball Tournament. Margaret Glaser remembers the good times she had while she was attending Girls' State in Jacksonville. Carole Shrader will always remember her Senior English class. Janet Marlett had fun during the Senior play. Stella Cisco can't forget the day she got caught skipping school. Gary Fann always thinks about the last day of school. Alvin Lamar remembers the day he squirted Fred Leach with a hose. John Fox remembers the card parties that were held in the furnace room. Jack Barr remembers all the good times he had during high school. Denny Spaulding remembers most his freshman year. Kaye Westerfield remembers all the studying she had to do. Mary Marlett remembers the Prom. Ken Cisco remembers Mr. Monge's P. E. Classes. Jon Harris won't forget how he enjoyed bugging all the teachers. These are the things the seniors don't think they will ever be able to forget. If all these memories were recorded in one book, a most interesting book it would be! HOW WE SPENT OUR TIME The most popular dance of the year was the twist. Of course we enjoyed others: The mashed potatoes, the pony, the limbo, and the bird. There were many records to dance to. These records were made by many different artists. Such records as West of The Wall, End of the World, All Alone Am I, Big Girls Don't Cry, and Let Me In were often heard. Some of the popular artists were Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, Chubby Checkers, The Four Seasons, Bobby Darin, and Fabian. Quite a bit of time was spent at the movies. We went to see Days of Wine and Roses, To Kill a Mockingbird, “ Sweet Bird of Youth, West Side Story, Where the Boys Are, Girls, Girls, Girls, The Birds, and Gypsy. Our favorite actors were Elvis Presley, Richard Beymer, John Wayne, James Stewart, Jack Lemmon, Laurence Harvey, Burt Lan- caster, Tony Curtis, and Paul Newman. The most popular actresses were Elizabeth Taylor, Natalie Wood, Jane Fonda, Lee Remick, Sandra Dee, and Connie Francis. Naturally we spent time enjoying the many different school activities. The Freshman Mixer was about the first activity of the year. There were the basketball games which we all enjoyed very much. The many organizations held dances at different times during the year. The band and chorus sponsored parties and gave a concert. It seemed as if we always had something we could do. Even though some of us won’t admit it, we enjoyed our classes in school. We liked learning about history, English, German, Bookkeeping, German, Science, and other things we studied. The simplest way to say it is: We completely enjoyed the way we spent our time during the year 1962-1963! ERNEST A.
