CROSS COUNTRY The small McLean Cross Country team ran its way to a disappointing four loss and one tie season, the tie coming against Yorktown. Coach Le¬ vin, in his first year as cross country coach, has great hopes for future sea¬ sons as only three seniors are gradu¬ ating from the team.

Coach Schupp, Barbara Marsland, Shelley Smith, Missy Metz, Kathy Cochran, Coddy Marx, Christa Haffner, Susan Colonka, Nancy Lengyel, Anastasia Martinez, Debbie Gingell, Denise Fitzpatrick, Annette Boccabello, Sally Johnston, Ann Thor, Coach Glenn, Debbie Furmage, Jame- zetta Karickhoff, Dorothy Shilling, Karen Vetterling, Suzanne Acar, Kathy Wieseman. TENNIS The Girl ' s Tennis Team began the season with not only new players but new coaches, Mr. Robert Glenn and Mrs. Anna Schupp. With the help of the coaches the team went on to a winning season, which was five wins and four losses. Then at the end of the season five girls advanced to the Regionals: a singles player, Coddy Marx and two doubles teams, Karen Vetterling and Barbara Marsland and Debbie Furmage and Missy Metz. Coddy Marx ad¬ vanced to state. This year two new awards were given at the Fall Sports Banquet, to the most improved player and the most valuable player. Kathy Wieseman, a new member of the team, who played number four singles, re¬ ceived the first award and Coddy Marx, who played number one singles received the sec¬ ond. Although the team is losing several of their important senior players, Sally Johnston, number two singles, Rene Gertreu, number three singles, and Ann Thor and Christa Haf¬ fner, number three doubles, the team has great hopes for another winning season next year. iM mm : »i ‘.s ' c . ....
