Mrs. Irene Jones SCHOOL NURSE The school nurse is a valuable member of the professional staff at McLean High School. On duty most of the day, her job is to ad- minister the school’s health program as estab- lished by the County Health Department. Among her various jobs in this capacity are physical examinations for all students, work- ing with daily health problems, tuberculin tests, audiometer tests, dental checks, visual tests, first aid, and any major accidents which might occur. 24 VISITING TEACHER McLean is fortunate in having the services of a little known, but very busy person, the Visit- ing Teacher. Her job includes a variety of activities such as working with indigent fa- milies, working with potential drop-outs, help- ing students who have dropped out of school to obtain jobs, and working with families faced with major social and economic prob- lems. Mrs. Jones services are invaluable in helping to better the lives of these students. Mrs. E. H. Little

As our world grows smaller it becomes even more necessary for everyone to better understand and know about other cultures as well as his own. The Social Studies Depart- ment is attempting to do this by offering a variety of courses designed with this in mind—World Civilization, American Civilization, Modern History, Geography, Econ- omics, Sociology, U.S. History, U.S. Government, World History and Ancient and Medieval History.
