Whether senior or freshman, every Highlander was nervous and anx- ious. The Hrst day was full of chaos. Everywhere the students turned someone was lost. The stary eyed freshmen were wandering amibly around. The big change had them petrified of their new surroundings. To them it was as if they had walked into a world of crazed people. For the returning Highlanders all was back to a normal routine and Ending classes was an easier task. Getting to class on time, however, was very difficult, because most seemed to stand around trying to cope with the idea that summer had come to a fast halt. Alarm clocks went off earlier than usual so as to allow extra time to pick out just the right outiit for the lasting impression. Who cared if it was 102 degrees, sweaters were the in thing and a sweater it had to be. Walking around the quad looking at who was with who was some- thing the brave kids did while oth- ers just tried to hide in the bushes to escape.
