Every Highlander needed some time to esca e the P hectic pace of school life. Our campus had students of dif ferent ages, size, color, and race. Therefore, each had hisfher own idea of freetime. The way someone spent their freetime showed individ- uality and freedom. Alter work for many and school for some, freetime did indeed begin and one ofthe most popular ways of spending freetime was with friends. Out-ofschool hours were spent go- ing to the movies, shopping, attend- ing dances, trips to the beach, and parties. Holding that special attraction were the weekends. When the lights went on, McLane students knew how to have fun! McLane High School dances were the best and most pop- ular in Fresno. Some students preferred a more laid back atmosphere. They'd spend their freetime listening to the radio, writing letters, or reading books. Whatever way students chose to fill hisfher idle time had an IMPACT on hisfher life. Freetime, to teenagers, is the ba- sis of coping. Being a teenager can be difficult when all there is to do is attend school and work. Freetime is a blessing and it's a time for every- one to have fun and live life to the fullest. 6545 Free time New ...,. . .,t...t.t..,,,, . 0... Getting Back In to The Groove chool life had a tremendous IMPACT on the students of McLane. It was an experience that everyone had shared at some point in their lives. One could make school life very enjoyable or terribly miserable. Some McLane teenagers discov- ered that school life was more than just attending classes and hitting the books. By being closely in- volved they shared the feelings of many, and in the end, they stated that school life meant having a sec- ond family. Friends had a powerful IMPACT regarding school life. They were al- ways around to keep us company and to comfort us. Friends made school bearable and fun. For some, school life without friends would have been terrible. One of the traditional parts of school, choosing classes, was a nightmare for the student forced to reschedule. Finals, never ending homework, and those dreaded re- port cards, were either rewards or punishments, depending upon the effort put forth by the individual student. This part of school life de- finately had an IMPACT on every M.H.S. student. When students looked back at school life, they not only remem- bered the positive and negative points, but the IMPACT it imprint- ed upon their hearts and minds. 6515 School Life gg?-Lrefl-Right.
