The varsity harriers, though small in number were big in picking up points. Though having only four seniors they pulled through with the services of the under- classmen in the first meets. The seniors are Harold Beebe, Tom Ferreira, Dick Ballou, and Ron VVyckoff. Harold Beebe turned in the best comparative mark to this date with a 20.6 seconds clocking in the 180 yard low hurdles against Clovis and Redwood. In the interclass track meet sponsored by the thinclads. the Sophomores were way out in front of the juniors. while the seniors were even farther behind in a distant third place. There are Five coaches for this year's track team: Head coach Jack YVilcox. sprint coach Bill Knocke. high jump coach Tom Gilcrest, assisstant coach Lowell Reynolds, and part time coach in the hurdles, former world record holder in the college lows, Ancil Robinson. Jeriy Holland, a FSC distance runner, and Steve Hopper of the CCAC. helped the other coaches also. 166

Though they were only in three meets to the printing of this copy, they were getting meet experience under their belts for the bigger meets to follow later. The big point getters for the C's were Rudy Dari' in the Sprints and hurdles, and Butch Lakovich in the broad jump and high jump.
