These were the Merced and Bullard games. KIcLane led 12 to O at halftime in the hferced game. but the mighty Bears put on an offensive attack to counter that of the clansmen's from the first half. Merced came from behind, scoring 19 points, and the BfcLane defense couldn't hold, try as it might. Bullard led the Scotts all the way in their encounter, but in the fourth quarter McLane came alive. 26 points behind. In the fading minutes of the game, quarterback Jim Wisner launched an aerial attack equal to or better than any seen by prep followers during the 1959 season, lVisner's efforts payed off as he found the range to Mitch Peterson already in the end zone. If Vx'isner's passing in the last game is any sign of things to come, then NYL teams had best be on guard because he is only a sophomore. Wisner isn't alone though in the outlook for things to come. for almost everyone of the players will be back next fall. including some top NB' prospects.
