E . if nur' The Student Advisory Committee was organized April 17. 1959 before the opening of McLane High School to assist the Principal in establishing poli- cies affecting the student body, to help in the se- lection of school colors, and in general, to present student opinion concerning the many problems that had to be solved before the doors of McLane opened. The membership of this group included rep- resentatives from all junior high schools in Fresno which would send students to Nlclsane, as well as Before the opening of McLane High School Mr. Easterbrook Ilict with the ofhcers of the Student Advisory Committee. They are Milt Latta President, Bev jarkson Vice Pretident and Marian llarri- son Secretary-Treaturer. upperclassrnen from the high schools which would transfer the Junior and Senior classes to fXTcLane. Early in the school year the membership was ex- panded to include three additional senior repre- sentatives. Problems having to do with student government have been dealt with during the First semester of this first year at lXIcLane, The major concern has been to set up tentative rules providing for the election of student body officers and to begin the writing of a constitution for the school. it
