GIBSON aQt5,tlhUN1TY As you leave McLain High School, we want you to know how deeply we ap- preciate the tremendous effort you have made here and the caring you have put into the students and staff at McLain. You have been constantly aware of the need for UNITY at this school and have worked tirelessly to- ward fostering and encouraging this spirit among the students here. Some of the pro- grams you have initiated such as Human Re- ations Committee, Leadership Workshops, Rap Sessions, as well as the deliberately in- tegrated student government and activity leadership, have been specifically aimed to- ward greater unity in all areas. You have kept yourself available to students and fac- ulty and we have had the feeling that you were truly among us. Your office door was open and you could be found in the hall talk- ing to students and staff between classes, we felt you were truly in touch with where we were. Under your leadership there has been real progress in this area and there is a grea- ter closeness, a feeling of we-ness and of one-ness. In order to have UNITY we must first have loyalty. Your loyalt to McLain has been great and constant. You have worked many long and difficult days for the betterment of McLain and your loyalty has further been demonstrated b your regular attendance at and support of, athletic events and other school sponsored activities. ' We can't think of anyone who deserves more to be on the page which symbolizes our UNITY than you do. To you, Sylvester V. Gibson, we dedicate this book called UNITY because you have truly epitomized that spirit at McLain Hig Unity, We must have unity Caused united we stand Divided we fall They played a game E Of divided and con uer X Ever since this worlcd began Tried their best to Seperate the people so We couldn't understand But now's the time to Come together and Show our force Now's the time for all The people to speak with one voice I'm talkin' bout Unity, we must have unity 1 Cause united we stand Divided we fall X ' Now' the time to Follow the leader And give our full support Listen to the words Of the faithful teacher Let's put an end to hate and war Now's the time to come together And make a stand Now's the time for us to Bring peace and Love all over the land Unity, we must have UNITY Cause united we stand Divided we fall We got to come together We got to come together fit iz34st3i5EzlaV5R5hiS My .lb I5 I I Xl 5 E K Uwlf,aWqWfl V x TIT all il Qqllwlgllll QQ Qs xgvlqllilll?
