OW' get Cf 5 TRAINING GROUP GETS ALONG The Ioseph H Damel Glee Club IS truly a credlt to Tech The boys are well known for the1r gentlemanly behavror both on the campus and when they are grvmg concerts Thrs splendld morale ot the orgamzatron IS largely due to the excellent guldance of Mrs B B Thompson who IS just MA to the boys The concerts of the glee club are glven for any orgamzatxon request 1ng them provrdrng a convement txme can be arranged The club smgs a number of selections and always closes a concert wlth the McK1nley song The concerts are glven by a select group ot more experzenced boys The others ln the club graduate 1nto the concert group after a certam standard has been reached Each year the glee club grves a banquet and a closed dance The banquet usually held rn December IS always well attended by the alumm of the club The dance IS always an occaslon enjoyed by all and IS gxven ln the Tech gymnasxum The club was organlzed rn 1925 and named for Ioseph H Damel who was the t1rst dlrector of musxc m the publlc schools of Wcrshmgton rnclud mg the Washtngton hrgh schools Each year the organlzatlon mtroduces some new feature xnto the routme of the club For mstance one year the Glee Club emblem was mtroduced and another year the pms were ongmated The ofhcers of the club are Presldent Robert Lmdbloom Vlce Presl dent Iack Cranford Secretarles Iohn Kester Ioseph Bennett and Pete Vial Student Conductor Thompson Smlth .t .1 , . 1 1 I . - 1 - 1 1 ' 1 1 -
