V, Getting a one hundred per-cent bank account first, through the encouragement of Mrs. St. John, their teacher, Room 30's twenty-four members were awarded a picnic at Griffith Park in May. Room 46 was the next room to reach 100 W, with room 1 a close third. At the Thrift party at McKinley, March 25, the winning rooms, thrift captains and workers celebrated the conclusion of the exciting contest for larger and more numerous bank accounts. Doubling last year's bank accounts thrilled the students so that plans are already under way for a big campaign next year.
