We gratefully dedicate this year book to Qfanlqg 'E Wognlolrf A genial, friendly, quiet gentleman who left this world suddenly on August l8, l972, depriving his family, his friends in the field of industry and education, and his students of twelve years at McKinley of the pleasure of his being and of his beneficent influence.

rr-repress 72 E ., . .,, iii if-4 luli. QhulubPublwatww ' I-ugh Qclwolb Builalof, NwYo1ib 07' fffwf . Theme What's a city? ls it something more than a gathering of people? ls a city more than iust a place to live? What makes o city? Is it really more than its location, or the scenery? Or is it the people itself? What makes our city different from others? Surely Buffalo must have something unique from any other place on the map. Is it the different mixture of cultures, traditions, or our family backgrounds? Or is it saying: The PEOPLE make our city different, make it stand out? Here, at McKinley we have our own city, too. We've a mutual understanding and common goal. We have a gathering of people, all new to each other, all from different backgrounds. Some of the people met here will be friends for life, others passing acquaintances. But while they are here, one thing can be witnessed: they're working together for the good of McKinley. For some of us, it will be our second home, for others a crowded room throughout our four years, it is a new beginning, a renewal, a preparation for life outside our miniature city. A The yearbook staff wants more than to promote our school and the city. The important thing is to realize the parallels between them. As you go through this yearly publication of the President consider yourself More than iust a student now attending school, but rather your place in the world, and you relate to your city. ' i
