Plumbers share with the machinists the work of threading, cuthng and burrmg Plumbing is a trade that embraces knowledge of sci nce law tools m terial and proc dures Under the supervision of Mr Bart DArca'1gelo the Seniors are attempting to master those phases before graduation A part of their work they have installed a commercial toilet room with water closet wall and floor urinals lava tories drinking fountain and floor drain Another project completed was work on a lead drum tap in which various types of joints had to be wiped The Seniors also did some brazing vielding and making projects fabri cated with sweat joint fillings as soft older Likewise they did the neces sary procedures involved in the laying out finding the grade and patch and the setting up of batter boards for a sanitary or storm sewer The Juniors installed three complete bathrooms with soil stacks waste vents hot and cold water lines and all fixtures functioning with running water They also completed various joints of lead pipe The Sophomores under the supervision of Mr Ben D Arcangelo learned fundamentals by Top Assembling pipes and fittings faulkung and roughing in Bottom Roughrng for a bathroom used all the tools that are necessary for the completion of jobs Also work based on soldering of sheet lead was done and the layout and roughing of different types of bathrooms were in stalled This took in work with cast iron and all sizes of screw pipe Freshmen learned the proper pro cedures of cutting threads and cutting pipe to measurements They also were instructed concerning the use of 45 fillings and the application of the ma thematrcs required for completing the o I ' 'e a- I I I ' 5, e .
