UMC? 2l 50I'lI'l2 To help estalish and maintain, through kind- ness and firmness, conditions which will make for efficiency of teachers, satisfaction of par- ents, and success and happiness of McKinley students--this has been and will continue to be my aim. WILLIAM T. WELD. Assistant Principal. '17 '?7f..Ul l HARRY G. HARTMANN WILLIAM T. WELD Assistant Principal Books, books, books! Mr. Hartmann, our bookman, handles more books in one year than many of us will handle in a life-time. ln addition, there is the problem of keeping enough supplies in stock for our school popu- lation. Bus passes is another item on his list. We might even say that he is our banker, be- cause all the money from every club and or- ganization must go through his hand.

7 rincqaafzi Weddage Dear friends of the Classes oi Ianuary and Iune, 1952: Are you really interested in what older folks say to you? Whose opinions do you value most? lust how much attention do you pay to suqqestions and advice from parents and teach- ers? Iust what does McKinley High School actually mean to you? Such questions as these come to mind as I try to conform to the tradition that each year book should contain a letter from the principal. So, whatever it may be worth, here is my sincere wish for you all: may those who know you best feel that McKinley Hiqh School has helped make you a qood person who can think for himself. Sincerely yours, N. B. DEE, Principal. t l

Omce errionne Miss Connor meets all the new pupils who enter McKinley, and her greatest joy is ful- filled when they complete the four years set before them. Whenever any one does not seem to fit in with his program, she is always anxious to make any adjustment that will be of the greatest benefit to the pupil. We are very fortunate in having such a fine person to guide us in our early years. E' I fl. X .11 LUCILLE BECKER, REGINA KOHRING, WINIFRED MEYER MISS KOI-IRING Are any of you girls planning to enter the service? Here is a young lady that can ad- vise you welI. Miss Kohring was a nurse in the 21st General Hospital during World War II. She saw service in North Africa and Italy. SARAH A. CONNOR Assistant Principal MISS BECKER There is charm in this lady. To have talked with her is to have lived a little richer. Miss Becker knows more than anyone else about the records of our school. She is very effici- ent, humorous, and full of fun. MISS MEYER ' Not a more cheerful person can be found. Distinguished looking, kindness, and thought- fulness are characteristic traits of Miss Meyer. Do you remember when she injured her foot last winter? Yet she dared come to school every day to keep details moving as always.
