In the field of literature, the emphasis was based on the works of English writers. . In social studies, the economic, social, and political problems facing the United States were studied. Seniors also studied the problems of their own McKinley gov- ernment. They participated in the annual Pacific- Asian Affairs Council, the Speech Festival, and the Career Week conferences. THE AMERICAN OBSERVERH is a ne '-di MRS. GRACE MRS. GRACE NODA REMICK To supplement their own research and discussions, they took trips to the Art Academy which enriched their visual edu- cation.
