By winning in this McKell home- coming, Ihe Bulldogs will assure themselves of no less than a tie for the title. McKell is now 5-2 on the year and 3-1 in NEKC action. The McKell touchdown machine began grounding away at Catletts- burg, home school of assistant coach Ed Moore, of McKell, early. The Bulldogs took the ball on their own 30 and moved it to the enemy 41 before Stevens went around right end for the first of his quartet of touchdowns. Stev- ens had it again minutes later when from midfield the Bulldogs pushed to the 10 where he took it over. Darrel Sammons passed to Wayne Palmer for a 13-0 lead. Here’s where the roof fell in on a club McKell has not whipped in at least six tries. Tom Callihan opened the four- touchdown period with a score over the center from the 10-yard line. Palmer started a scoring drive with a dash from the McKell 45 to Catlettsburg’ 10 where Stevrns bulled over the middle for the TD. A pass to Palmer again brought the conversion. McKell rolled from its 30 to the Catlettsburg 30 where Callihan skirted the end for the tally. Gary Hardin recovered -an enemy fumble on its 37 and Stevens promptly rolled wide for the score. A final TD came in the fourth period when Palmer bolted over left tackel on a 66-yard scoring dash. Callihan ran it across for the conversion.
