MC KELL 1958 Iff MC KELL HIGH SCHOOL I SOUTH SHORE, KENTUCKY He came to us in time of need, A man of patience rare, He taught us algebra and math, And how to find X square. His efforts then were not in vain; We all agreed he did well. Qir hats are off to one grand soul Our own dear Mr. Kidwell. Ben F. Kidwell has served more than half a century of his life in the field of education. He has shown a continued interest in the youth of Greenup County. The last three years he has taught at McKell High School. With sincere appreciation for this service and interest, we, the Graduating Class of 1958, take great pride in dedicating to him this issue of the 1958 McKell. o u R B O A R D ROSCOE STEPHENS Superintendent ALTA SCHMIDT Secretary STANDING Roscoe Stephens Mat Crum Coleman Nickell ▲ k o F SEATED Rufus Collier Edgar Hammond Wayne Traylor ROBERT BAKER Director of Pupil Personnel CECIL HALL Supervisor of Elementary Schools OUR PRINCIPAL, CLIFF LOWDENBACK We extend our heartfelt commendations to the faculty and students of McKell High School for their cooperation in making this school year a most pleasant experience for us all. Salisbury played a variety ol positions this year including end, fullback and halfback on offense and middle guard on defense. He also made the Northeastern ‘ Ken- tucky Conference's all-star team on his defensive ability at the guard spot. Salisbury not only excels in foot- ball but has made his way in baseball, being tops in the state with a .722 batting average in 1955. In his multiple offensive roles for Coach Ben Webb's club this year, Salisbury came up with four touch- downs and a pair of extra points to help pace McKell to its first winning season on the gridiron in several years.
