TUDENTS WISHING TO MASTER public speaking can enter Speech Club, directed by Miss Helen G. Malseed. As members of the National Forensic League, the group participates in debate and in speech activities including dramatic interpretation, humor- ous interpretation, original oration, oratorical declamation, and extempor- aneous speaking. The club presented as a children's play The Wizard of Oz with six performances in January. During February, the club sponsored a Cham- pionship Debate Tournament for Western Pennsylvania Speech Groups, debaters attended the National Invitational Tournament at Georgetown University. Earlier in the year, the club provided speakers for the Tuber- culosis Association. In June, 1962, Pennsylvania was represented in the National Forensic Finals in Montana by Thalia Dorwick fgirls' extemporaneousj and Jim Bathe foriginal orationj.
