FOOTBALL 1962 SCHEDULE Opp. 8 Glassport 0 15 Central Catholic 7 22 Penn Hills 0 29 Altoona 13 5 at Har-Bi-ack 6 I3 at Johnstown 13 20 Duquesne 0 26 at New Kensington V 0 3 at Wes: Miiflin North 16 'AA Contests HE 1962 TIGER FOOTBALL SQUAD compiled an excellent record of eight wins and one loss, After winning three straight games against Glassport, Central Catholic, and Penn Hills, the Tigers were eliminated from the Class AA race with a set- back at the hands of the Altoona Mountain Lions by a score of 13-9. Seeking revenge, the Tigers completely outclassed Har-Brack, beating them 54-6. The Tigers then squeezed by Johnstown, 14-13. Returning for their final home game at War Memorial Field, the Tigers romped over Duquesne,38-0. After defeating New Kensington, the Tigers met their arch rivals, the West Mifllin North Vikings, at the Duquesne field. By stopping the Vikings with a goal-line stand in the final min- utes of play, the Tigers ended their season with a 19-16 victory. Coached by Harold Weigle, who was assisted by Charles E. Schaeffer, Noel Guyot, Richard Bowen, and team trainer Dennis DOH, Kuremsky, the '62 Tigers played all home games on Saturday afternoon. Seniors on the 1962 Tiger squad are Henry Aigner, Bill Allen, Regis Beirne, Nick Borelli, Joe Catalina, Garey Christian, Bill Detweiler, Jim Grimm, Dennis Hutskow, Dave Kaylor, Ed Lenda, Frank Liberatore, Sam Liberatore, Guy Miller, Rudy Nicora, Douglas Plozay, Jim Smith. Don Squibb, and Larry Zambo. Rudy Nicora, Tiger back, dashes for the Mountain Lion Back Frank Liberatore exploits an opening in the West R031 line- Mifflin North game.
