They are the symbols of majestic stateliness as they stand firm and strong. But, they are also symbols of sincere happiness and lasting friendships. Our teen-age life would have been exceedingly drab if we had never placed our feet on the threshold of our Alma Mater. l1Ve may also compare our schools to fountains, bubbling over with the enthusiasm of youth. How well we remember hearing the laughter, the ambitious ideas, the friendly chatter, the optimistic plans for the future of our classmates! NVho hasn't learned to look with honor at Tech High, standing dominantly on yonder hill, like a glorious citadel? And who doesn't recall those startled looks at the George YVash- ington and Shaw Avenue buildings during our green freshie days, of how we became lost in the corridors of those buildings? But, we found ourselves again, and now we hold those times dear in our memories. W'ho hasn't looked with inspiring awe at the modernistic design of the Vocational School, set off by a verdantly-green lawn? And those things which go with campus life-walks at lunch hour, as we strolled along, hand in hand, those cheering crowds as we sat in the stadium of the Memorial Field, those mad scrambles to the doors at the four o'clock hour?
