Robert K, Ward won third prize in the amount of subscriptions for individuals. W The Freshman Initiation and Reception on September 25 was a Q great success. The Sunny Valley Five furnished the music for eg dancing. QE The prize speaking contest was held Wednesday, November 5, with kj Beverly Hadley participating in the speaking contest. Marilyn Hetleyip and Phyllis Paradie were in the spelling bee with Marilyn Hatley M winning first prize. I C X 1 All I Freshman C1338 At the first class meeting the officers were elected as follows: President-Edith Hammond Vice President-John Gilmour Secretary-Camille Sicerd Treasurer-Norene Blake t After the officers were elected we talked about having a dance or a movie. we were in charge of the entertainment for Christmas so we decided to put on a play. John Gilmour end Camille Sicard were uccessful. The title elected to find a play. The play was very s of the play was, NThe Fight Before Christmas.N At our second meeting we decided to put on a dance, on the eleventh of November. We didn't make much money but it was our first try at any- thing so we were pretty proud. We had a short class meeting and decided to give money to help buy the outside lights for the academy. Later, in October we had the Halloween arty. 5 v In the gir1's basketball, we had four girls from our class on the first team and two boys for the first team on the boy's basketballga team.
