l Cheerleaders This year the cheerleaders were chosen by the Student Council. They gave a certain number of points for poise, motions, and voice. There wer b t e a ou ten girls who tried out for cheering. The six girls who were chosen were Kleft to right! Sandy Brooks, Freshman' Pat Fenn, Sophomore, Myself, Senior, Carol Sheltra, Joan Crown, , Juniors, and Bev Hadley, Freshman. Very shortly after we were chosen we had a meeting to decide on who was to b e captain, how to ra1se money for our uniforms and the kind we wanted. I was chosen as captain. we decided on Blue Cord- uroy jumpers with ballerina skirts which were lined with ll ye ow satin, yellow long sleeve blouses, and Hlittle boyn hats with yellow satin 1 v sors. we earned money by a turkey raffle and food sale. We gave Mrs. Arthur Jones the task of making the suits. She did a won- derful job tool we decided on every free activity period for practices. Valorie Sicard helped us with our cheers and constructed new ones. We had a wonderful time but this couldn't have been achieved if we hadn't cooperated. we really spurred the girls team to victor a d y n scream- ed our lungs out for the boys who did a wonderful job, tool On behalf of th e squard, I wish to thank Valerie, Mr. Jones, th e classes, teachers and other people who helped us before and during the games. Now for myself, I want to thank the cheerleaders for their co- operation, their, willingness to dig right in and cheer, mostly be- cause they chose me as captain. I had a wonderful time and I h cpe they enjoyed it as much as I did. Best of luck to them next year. Lena Sheppard '52
