Marlys Midgley Marilyn Aasand Myrna Leir Clara Harding Walter Hoyt Clayton Lowe Cyrus Harding Irene Smith and Gladys Haakenson The dreaded initiation rolled around in September of our Freshman Year Marlin Erickson and joan McNeese took the prize for unusual costumes Marlin wearing a woman s bathing suit and joan wearing men s long underwear We finally succeeded in passing our exams and entered our Sophomore Year with a complete new teaching staff to instruct us With Mr Smith as superintendent our school took a new activity front Going to school during our Sophomore Year was quite uneventful except for the outstanding skip day in which the whole high school decided to take But the result of the exciting event was that we had punishment awaiting us at home which cured us of any other skip day we had in mind As we entered our junior Year we were now accustomed to our new rules and customs. This was the year that the McHenry school first published their yearbook and school paper. We shall always remember all our gay rides on the school bus to and from basketball games, On our trips out to Red Willow Lake all the jokes and stories that were passed from the back of the bus to the front. As we entered our fourth and final year in high school we were all looking forward to graduation in the spring, but dreaded to be parted from our classmates after graduation. When May 19th came, the day of graduation, the class role was as follows: Myrna heir, Clara Harding, Merilyn Aasand, Marlys Midgley, Clayton Lowe, Marvir Miska, Marlin Erickson, and Joan McNeese. 1 With the close of our high school days may we never forget each other, and never forget all the good times we have had together in and out of school. l 0 .
