THE REFLECTOR I 9 2 3 PROPHECY - l9Z8 fContinued from Page Fifteenl :sf wk at Pk :of :if IESSIE BOURNE - What's wrong with that radio now? Oh well, if it won't go, it won't. Listen to what I found in the Oxford notes of this old-home-town paper' The McGuffey School directors have at last suc- ceeded in obtaining a man to Hll the vacancy in the faculty of MCG High School, that was caused by the resignation of Principal C. S. Bunger. Mr. jack Hill is to take the place left vacant by the retirement of Mr. Bunger. Although Mr. Hill was kicked out of McGuffey twice when a boy, he en- tered college with aspiration. During his junior year, he found a Phi Bet key on the Slant Walkf I' BEA TRICE - 'lThat reminds me, Carvel, did you get tickets for the theatre? Esther Klemme is making her debute this evening. She's with the Metro-Goldwyn Opera Company, accompaning Mary Garden. CARVEL - UNO, I didn't. I forgot to. Static! Qfools with radiol RADIO -- 'lMiss Virginia Skinner will now give her weekly lecture on Evils of Association with the Masculine Sex DOROTH I' - Shels principal of Madame Star's famous seminary now. RADIO - The trial of Miss Dorothy Clark, Salt Lake City, is about to be broadcasted from this station. IESSIE - HIt's a shame Dot turned out so bad, I remember when she argued strongly against even a niodihcation of the Volstead Act. May- be she had planned her life then and was afraid it would ruin her trade. Think of Dot, a bootlegger queen. BEA TRICE - 'll got a letter from Leah Smith this morning. She's married and lives in New York. By the way, did you buy any of those books from the agent this afternoon? IESSIE - No, why? BEA TRICE - 'fWelI, I just wondered. That history book was writ- ten by Hugh Kirkpatrick. Do you remember him? I guess he has found Spain at last. He's a second Schapiro now. CARVEI, - When I go to Washington next week, I think l'Il take the train instead of the trans-continental bus. Lewis Pentecost always was a reckless driver, T hree hundred people have been killed since he started driving the bus. BEA TRICE - 'fWell, if Lewis is driving, I know l'd go on the train. Station KRZ is broadcasting the radio opera, that great epic of the Span- ish trolley bus1ness,- 'Carmenf Paul Jewell, Irwin Kunkel, and Gregory Chappars are the main actorsf' DOROTHY - 'iCharIes Shugert, noted orator, will treat us with his resounding voice when he speaks under the auspices of the same station at 8:30. He will talk on 'How I Cured Myself of Silence'. RADIO - Charles Shugert is now speaking from MCC. Hello folks, I haven't much to say-tf' , IESSIE - CTurning the radio to another stationj We don't want to hear that. ll6l
