Nyeste, Mike Peers No. 500 .... McGill's new l950 students, iden- tified by numbered Frosh buttons, were welcomed to the campus in Old McGill style. The Reception commenced on the 28th ot September with Registrav tion and a monster Frosh meeting and dance in the evening. The programme included dances, Athletic Preview, an Activities Night, a spectacular Pep Rally, and Undergraduate Meetings. These Undergrad meetings were de- signed to introduce the undergrad executives and senior members ot the Faculties to the new students. The pro- gramme also included the choosing of a Frosh Queen tor l950 as well as some prizes being presented to outstanding Frosh. MacDonald College and McGill Frosh got together at the annual Mac Picnic, and then the programme was climaxed by a Grand Ball at the Currie Gym on October 14th. The Reception Programme was en- joyed by everyone connected with it, especially the upperclassmen who were treated to free cigarettes by the Frosh as part of hazing. The spirit on the campus was at a new high this year and this coupled with the programme made the Frosh Reception the best ever, and was a fit- ting start to the college year. 14
