On September 4 1944 the drgnrfted senrors of today entered the frrst grade classroom In thls eventful day seventy seven students some accompanted by thetr parents others wrshmg they were,began the twelve year journey of whrch the end IS now drawrng near The years of our elementary educatron passed swtftly, and soon we were LH the srxth grade Durlng thls year the only major tragedy occurred rn our class Tlus was the ac crdental death of Raymond Coulter Shortly afterward, as a clrmax to our elementary school we enjoyed the annual banquet wrth a Western Theme After havrng enjoyed the feelrng of tmportance for the past few years, rt came as quite a shock to f1nd that we no longer occupred the top rung of the ladder Through the years we have lost many of our class members through transfer marrrage cres have been frlled by those who have jotned us through rntervenrng years The hlghlrght of our Juntor year was the presentatton of An Apple for Adam T end the year we honored the graduatrng class of 55 wrth a banquet usrng Amencans rn Parts as the theme Dunng the ensuxng summer our class was represented at Guls State and Boys State by Lmda Covrngton, Pat McDermott, Roberta Wyeth, Peggre Caloway, Vanette Anderson, Reba Brmkley Irene Hamburger, Elorse Meulr, Barbara Beard, Wayne Crowder, Roger Greenway, Wayne Hogue and Jxmmy Lee Welch As we the 56 semors 30 guls and 26 boys, of 1956 face the future may we do so wxth determmatron to attam our lughest ambrtrons and w1th an attrtude of servrce toward our fellowman, our country and our God 71 ' I . . . , I - ' ' I - 1 . , . . !
