On Thursday night, October 26, students and faculty gathered on the east side of the school for a bonfire and pep meeting. These were our first activities during McGavock’s First Home- coming. A car was provided to ‘“‘bash’’ for those who were brave enough to attempt it. Ricky Tuberville and Jimmy Sanders made sure that the Donelson Fire Department was on hand to help us bury the Gallatin football player that burned to defeat. Because of rain, the game was rescheduled but the dance was held on Friday night from 8:00 to 11:00 in our gym. The Stu- dent Council sponsered the dance and served refreshments. ‘““Cuntree Hamb,” a well known group of McGavock musicians, provided the music for the variety of students and teachers that attended. Pictures and mums were the responsibility of the Junior class and these things made our 1972 Homecoming a memorable event.
