ee A Wind Ensemble The McGavock High School Wind Ensemble has been a very active, very honored group this year. Chosen as one of only eight bands in the South- east to perform at the Music Educators National Conference, Mr. Hull’s group traveled to Atlanta in March. One of the very finest groups in the state, this ensemble has presented two concerts, and attend- ed all area contents,, The woodwind choir, the brass choir, and percussion ensemble have also proven to be very good as have the individual performers. They placed thirteen students in the All-State Band and nineteen the All-Middle Tenn- essee Band. If this year is an example of what is to come, we can expect great things. i i : i : i

A Concert Band The 1971-1972 Concert Band has been a credit to McGavock High School. As Band 2, these students are responsible for letting people know that our bands cannot be divided into distinct groups by their abilities. A fine band in their own right, they have given us reason to be very proud. Under the direction of Mr. Jay Dawson, this band has performed in two concerts, the MTSBOA Concert Festival and, divided into a woodwind choir and brass choir, they participated in the Solo and Ensemble fes- tival. The Spring trip this year took them to Knoxville for the Dogwood Arts Festival where they per- formed both as a concert band and as a march- ing band. F i“ S es
