The Youth Guidance Officers, headed by George Currey, are a group of young men interested in the youth of today. There are thirty-five men involved in this organ- ization which is divided into three cate- gories: preventive, investigative, and en- forcement. The preventive division works mainly in the schools giving lectures and counseling with students. On the weekend they are on patrol as are regular policemen. The in- vestigative division deals with runaways and school burglaries. The enforcement division works answering radio calls deal- ing with cases of a more criminal nature — such as child abuse.

Assemblies ... The McGavock Jazz Rock Group The McGavock Jazz Rock Group was one of the first assemblies here at M.H.S. They performed for the North, South, and West schools. Lucretia Mac Evil, Jesus Christ Super Star, and Shaft were among the popular numbers they did. The group was honored by Channel 2 when they were ask to do a taping for them.
