Text from Pages 1 - 88 of the 1963 volume:

During our high school years there have been many times when we have needed help and guidance. It was during these times that we found we could always depend on Ray Blaylock. With his job as custodian and substitute teacher, we feel that he deserves credit for the many ways he helped around the school with the different activities. He has done many jobs and has put forth great effort to have them done right. His leaving not only left a gap in the forces of educa- tional advancement but it has deprived us of a friendship and sincere understanding which can never be wholly replaced. We therefore dedicate this 1962-63 Bagpipes to MR. RAY BLAYLOCK. Administration MR. MUNCK English, Library, Journalism, Speech MR. SIMPSON Typing, Office, Bookkeeping, Superintendent mhs MRS. The Coat of Arms has a light green background. There is a grey ribbon with the school name written on it in large red letters at the bottom. In the middle there is a shield containing the old and new high school yearbook symbols and the school colors. In the very center of the shield there is a symbol picturing each of the sports McEwen participates in. Above the shield there is a football helmet. The helmet is covered with a helmet cloth of the school colors. On top of the helmet sits a scotty dog representing the school mascot. The scotty is crowned with a king’s crown.
