A- Qweetheavt Peggy Funk, a sparkling, blue-eyed blond, was honored at the annual Future Farmers of Amer- ica Banquet held November 22, 1960, when she received the title of Chapter Sweetheart. She was chosen by secret ballot of the F.F.A. mem- bers at large and her name kept secret until the night of the banquet, when she was awarded a white sweetheart jacket with her name em- broidered on it. Peggy, a junior, was elected from among all the eligible junior and senior girls. A few of her activities are Swing Band, Highland Lassies Majorette, MHS Cheerleader, Vice-President of Thespians, and Glee Club. Congratulations and best wishes to the 1960 F.F.A. Sweetheart! Custodian Ray Blaylock, receive the coveted awards of first, the City Father of the Year, and later, the County Father of the Year. Ray Blaylock COUNTY FAIR PRINCESS Peggy Funk Senior Lynn Whitacre became the first McEwen student in recent years to be chosen as a Pendleton Round-Up Princess. She trav- eled far and wide throughout the state tc advertise the annual three-day show. Peggy Funk, an MHS junior, joined the ranks of successful candidates for the Uma- tilla County Fair Court.
