. . f-(em am scholastic faadfiM - VoJkSJdt ¥da omAj CaQjuJtciotiOM; Nan Coppock, maintaining a straight 4.0 average, has been named valedictorian of her class. Winning a speech trophy her senior year. Nan also held offices of student-body secretary, Girls' League treasurer and marshal, and Highlander editor. She was chosen to attend Girls' State by the American Legion Auxiliary, and is active in church and community work. Nan, an active member of various clubs, belongs to Thes- pians, Torch Honor, and Pep Band. She plans to con- tinue her education at the University of Oregon at Eugene, Oregon. Lynn Margaret Whitacre, graduating with a GPA of 3.975, has participated in Torch Honor, Thespians, Pep Band, and Glee Club. Lynn has completed a year as Girls' League president and cheerleader of the stu- dent body. Also Lynn recently held the office of Worthy Advisor in Rainbow and was chosen as one of the four princesses of the Pendleton Round-Up. As an active church and community worker, Lynn was voted Girl-of-the-Month for co-operation. Lynn plans to continue her education at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington.

Last Will cu T ixmj tk Class 1961 I, Bill Beebe, will my ability to be reserved and to keep my mouth shut to Peggy Funk who has dire need of it. I, Ina Black, will my happy temperament to Sue Tinsley who always fights with the boys. I, Sally Christopher, will my height to the Hewitt twins so they can play basketball. I, Nan Coppock, will the many defects of my car to Harold Youncs in hopes that he can combine them and make something that runs better than the pickup he has now. I, Mike Dunlap, will my sheep's clothing to any McEwen wolf who may need it. I, John Gibson, will my girl friends to Gary Moore who thinks he already has many. I, Gerald Grimes, will my top grades to Gary Roden who will be ruined if he accepts. I, Dave Harden, will my ability to go with many girls to Mike Shields who goes with one. I, Lorre Hiatt, will my ability to provide my own ride to Odessa Larch who needs it. I, Judy Johnson, will my victories in arguments with Mrs. Simpson to Odessa Larch who has tried but has never won. I, Marilyn Lieuallen, will my ability to stay engaged to Sharon Schneider who can't. I, Susan McEwen, will my music career to Peggy Funk whose hair resembles Beethoven's. I, Marvin Nichols, will my curly hair to Mr. Simpson who gets frequent colds. I, Wayne Richards, will my big mouth to Doug McEwen so he can chew more bubble gum. I, Roger Roth, will my ticket to the Umapine Dance to Tony Elder who trys to sneak in. I, Nick Simpson, will my nicknames to Joy Ashcroft as they fit him better anyway. I, Pamela Sincleir, will my out-of-town boy friends to Eileen Chase who likes them. I, David Scott, will my flaming red face when I get embarrassed to Denny Widener who always looks that way. I, Sharlet Smith, will my ability to get married so young to Sharon Stack who needs it. I, Karen Tinsley, will my false teeth to Mrs. Simpson who now has a good start. I, Lynn Whitacre, will my I's in physics and trig to Jim Blackwell who tries SO hard but can't succeed. I, Linda White, will my lovely hair to Mr. Hansen who sports the wool-over-eye look. I, Carlene Woodward, will my librarian job to anyone who is able to figure it out. I, Sharon Zonich, will my worries about dating, dieting, among other things to Floyd Shock who never worries about anything.
