With a tough schedule to play the team played creditable football all through the season, even though we lost the first six games. The team seemed to find themselves in the last two games by winning them handily and finishing the season on a high note. The Scotties should have nothing to be ashamed of and have a bright future to look into with a large fraction of the team returning next year. Varsity Top, left to right: Manager, Fred Kirk; Terry McMillan, David Hesp, Larry Whitney, Harry Brown, Jay Moore. Coach, Lawrence Larsen. Bottom: Larry Brown, Jim Lieuallen, Gordon Elder, Paul Rice, Dean Whiteley. Although the Scotties lacked sufficient basketball height, they showed good team spirit throughout the year. The Scotties won 6 games during the 57-58 season, most of them in the early part of the season. DEAN WHITELEY PAUL RICE The Scotties will lose Dean Whiteley, Jim Lieuallen, and Paul Rice this year through graduation. All three boys played A squad basketball and will be missed by the Scotties. Bottom: Terry McMillan, Herb Calhoun, Larry Whitney, Jay Moore, Steve Hodgen, Mike Dunlap, The Scotties B squad had a very successful year. Over 2 3 of their games were won. Often the B” squad games were more exciting than the A squad games. The development of our winning B squad should help considerably in future years. 19 Baseball 57 Standing, left to right: Mike Woodroofe, Dean Whiteley, Ted Bear, Paul Rice, John Phillips, Tom Moore, Dick Coppock, Gary Garretson.
