class ppophecy There are many lands from here to heaven but only Seniorland will be made of the class of fifty-seven. Eleven years from now in nineteen hundred and sixty-eight This you might see as the hand of fate. As we walk down Future Ambition Street, It's LeRoy Timmermann whom we first meet Who rules as Admiral of The Bath Tub Fleet. 'Tis Kenny Knight whom next we met who is known in this land as the barnyard vet. Among those in the class who really rates Is great old Gary the Gunnersmate. As we walk on down to the edge of town. We see Charles Betts plowing his ground. While over the hill removing a tick, We see the hick known as sheepherder Dick. While on the way back, the school house we pass And see Miss Joan teaching her class. On a bill board we noticed a harry old villian, A master piece painted by the great Linda McMillan. Martha, the gal who has always had nerve Is now commander of the naval reserve. As we pass the building that houses the press We see Josie in the midst of a mess. Next we see Gail the old lady of the shoe Who has so many children she doesn't know what to do. Not only is Ronna teaching business in school But is having a ball chasing men as a rule. Professor McEwen of the Foreign Exchange Didn't get to travel 'cuz she ran out of change. To end the history of this class prophecy We see Janet, head chemist, of a famous laboratory. class motto class colors CLASS flOWCR He that builds beneath the stars builds too low. Here Ye, Here Ye, Here Ye We, the members of the class of this year of our Lord 1957, of McEwen High School, being of sound mind and great physical fitness, do hereby will, bequeath and dispose of our stupendous, marvelous, “real gone” and glorious talents to the remaining imbeciles of the McEwen High School Student Body. L Dick Coppock, will my views on social economics to Mr. Starns, who could use some. I, Martha Bear, will my ability to get along with the class of '57 to the class of ’58. I, LeRoy Timmermann, hereby bequeath my ability to argue with teachers to Sue Alderman who does a good job of it already. I, Gail Hall, will my ability to get along with Mr. Lujan to Marilyn Ingalls who really needs it. I, Gary Garretson, will two of the hairs on my chest to Dean Whitely who needs them in order to be the man he thinks he is. L Josie Black, will my ability to get engaged before graduating to the freshmen girls who are trying to do the same before they become sophomores. I, Ken Knight, will my ability to grow side-burns and get along with the teachers to George May who needs them both. I, Charles Bens, will my ability to get along with the faculty of McEwen High to anyone who needs it, because Tm all pooped out. I, Joan Read, will my ability to get to the morning pep band practices on time to Carole Calhoun who never seems to quite make it. I also will my membership in “Hie Little Five” to Marla Brown who wants to get in. I, Gaye McEwen, will my 98 pounds to Gary Blom who will need it on the football line next year. 1 also will my membership in “The Little Five” to Joyce Hoptowit. I, Linda Myrick, will my legal excuse to skip school, because of my aching back to Harlene Cornen, as I won’t need it any more. I also will my membership in “The Little Five” to Donna Calloway who will probably take it anyway. I, Ronna Lieuallen, will my ability to be on the honor roll each nine weeks to Barbara Pinkerton who needs it. I also will my membership in “The Little Five” to Karol Moore who is expecting it. I, Janet Whitacre, will my ability to keep a four point average to Don Baumiester who needs it, so he can get out of high school before he is 20. I also will my membership in “The Little Five” to Shireen Simpson. “LET IT BE KNOWN” We, the class of 57, donate our amazing ability of winning the inter-class competition plaque fairly and squarely to the mistreated junior class. We, the class of 57, will our high scholastic average to the sophomores. We, the class of 57, will our ability to make the most out of everything and to have a lot of fun to the freshmen. We, the class of ’57, will our appreciation and thanks to the faculty who have given us the education which can’t be taken away. We, the class of ’57, will to Mr. Simpson the awarding and gratifying things our class has done, not to mention the bad things. We, the class of ’57, will to our parents the time and money which they have spent putting us through high school. We, the class of 57, will this cold old world our heart warming plans for the future. Let the doubt of this will be never, as it hangs in the halls of McEwen forever.
