STUDENT BODY PLAY Left to Right-Back Row: Paul Moore, Merle Mathwich. Second Row: Fay Haverland, Connie Harris, Lois Fuson, Art Teague. Front Row: Marlyn Davis, Jeanne Haigwood, Beverly Tucker, Harriet Schmidtgall, Carroll Cannon. The Student Body of McEwen sponsored and presented a plav, The Groom Said No!” The play for two successful performances, December 1 and 2, 1949. The play concerned a young war veteran who came home to find his future all planned for him, without regard for his personal desires. His family and girl made things pretty tough for a while, but, of course, our hero came through, told the whole crew where to get off, married his true love, a nurse, and presumably lived happily ever after.
