SOPHOMORE CLASS Left to Right—Front Row: Myrtle Lent, Jo Ann Huffman, Evelyn Packer, Joyce Maxwell. Back Row: Warren Hunt, Jim Rice, Leon Montee, Paul Moore, Jr., Bud Schmidtgall, Mr. Hardin, Advisor. Not Pictured: Norma Satterlee. CLASS HISTORY The Sophomores started their class with ten students this year. We elected officers the first week with the following results: President, Warren Hunt; vice- president, Paul Moore; Secretary-treasurer, Jo Ann Huffman. The Sophomores started the Freshmen off right, with an initiation on September 27th. The Freshmen wore their traditional costumes during the day and at 7:30 that night came to the gym for the final initiation. After this the Sophomores sponsored a mixer for the student body. Most of the Sophomare boys turned out for all sports and are doing very well. The girls all belong to the G. A. A. We have been guided through this successful year by our advisor, Mr. Hardin.

JUNIOR CLASS Left to Right—Front Row: Betty Swaggart, Marlyn Davis, Rosalie Bissonnett Carleen Buchel, Jeanne Haigwood, Lois Fuson. Back Row: Fay Haverland, Hamlin Christensen, Royce Bunch, Earl Burns, Jack Greenlee, Jack Pittman, Kenneth Williams, Mrs. Butterfield, Advisor. CLASS HISTORY At the beginning of the school year the Junior Class consisted of thirteen members. Not long afterward, Rosalie Bissonnett left, so we were leh with twelve members. We elected our class officers at the beginning of the year. The officers elected are as follows: Hamlin Christenson, President; Royce Bunch vice- president; Lois Fuson, secretary and treasurer; Jeanne Haigwood, class re- porter. The Sadie Hawkins dance was sponsoed by the Juniors. We had a good turnout and everyone seemed to have a good time in their Dogpatch costumes. For extra entertainment, we put on a Radio Amateur Hour. The Junior Class sponsored and presented a play to cover expenses for the Prom. Last, but not least, was the traditional Junior-Senior Prom. This was the first Prom at McEwen High and everyone enjoyed the affair. Mrs. Agnes Butterfield has been our class advisor.

Second Row: Althea Swaggart, Sylvia Harden, Clifford Kraft, Gary VanOcker. First Row: Jimmy Knight, J. A. Pierce, Roland Faircloth, Forrest Baker. CLASS HISTORY The Freshmen started the year with the largest class (seventeen) in school. However, Forrest Ingalls, Patty McCollum and Beulah Bissonnett left, so we have just fourteen pupils. At the first of the year we elected the following class officers: President, Garry VanOcker; vice-president, Forrest Baker; secretary- treasurer, Sylvia Harden; Sergeant at arms, Clifford Kraft. The Freshmen had their annual Freshman initiation on Tuesday the 27th of September. The Sophomores gave us a dance afterwards. We held our annual Freshman picnic on Tuesday the 4th of October, but had a very drippy time, because of continous rain. The Freshmen entertained the student body and the faculty with a dance on April 28th.
