Students in the News . WY HISTORY WINNER -- Barbara Black scored first in Trumbull County on the Ohio 'History and Government Test. She won the honor to compete CAN CAPER -- These impetuous students, Virginia Vadino, Bonnie Essad, and George Wishak, in a spirit of sharing and charity, unlawfully solicited canned goods for Mc- Donald's needy. The extremely trying or- deal, however, was straightened out, and- the cans they collected were distributed to the needy. in another statewide test at Ohio University at Athens. MERIT TEST WINNER -- Thomas Johnson, a McDonald High Senior, placed as a semi- finalist in the National Merit Qualifying Test. Tom went on to rank as a finalist among the top seniors in the nation. Tom is the first student in the history of McDonald High to gain re- cognition on this nationwide test. VOLUNTEER SERVICE -- Candy Stripers Sylvia Wellington and Kathy Round won awards for devoting the most hours as volun teers at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Although the deadline nears and pressure mounts, layouts must be drawn and copy must be written.
