Fl Closs Prophecy by Sally Calvert Loretta Luknis Pearl Mackey Lynn Goodrich When we graduated in 1955, we decided to have a reunion in ten years, said Lor- etta. Here it is 1965 already, and the re- union committee fPearl, Lotsie, Sal, and Lynnl are still trying to find where everybody is as we are sitting in the offices of lane Meek's Broadway Production- Aqua Antics. Well, where should we start? asked Lor- etta. Maybe it would be easier to start alphabetically, don't you think so? We all agreed. lack Betts is first on our list, she continued. Does anyone know where he is? Oh! I saw lack the other day. He and Honey are married now, and lack is selling balloons to support their three children, Pearl said., Oh yes, he mentioned what a coincidence it was that Marie Clifford is teaching school now, and that his son is Marie's star pupil. tCliff also married her dream man--coach of Ohio University.l Well, that's killing two birds with one stone, said Loretta. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Mary Brown? Yes, Pearl said. Donna Ward is running a big photo- graphic studio, and Mary Brown is taking care of her books. She's a very good book- keeper. I'm afraid Teresa Colburn won't be able to be here, Sal said. She's head majorette for the Navy football team, and they have a game tomorrow. Fred Toth is their star full- back. He can really kick that football! I was talking to Betty Toth the other day fshe's practicing her interior decorating on Dave, in their own little homel, and she was telling me about Teresa and Fred, Sal said. We're getting off the track here, said Loretta. We'd better start alphabetically again. Where did we leave off? Terri Bucan, huh! She and Dave are married now. In fact, they've already started on a basket- ball team. Dave is coaching the two boys. and Terri is teaching their little girl the fun- damentals of cheerleading. She's already got a good start. She sure can make lots of noise! I don't think Pat Dinard can be here either, said Sal. She's the head buyer of Saks on Fifth Avenue of New York, and she's in Paris now, looking for new fashions. Gary Frazier is running a most exclusive shop in Chicago called 'The Tall Men's Shop.' Oh, Yeh! Here comes Leslie Gahagan. He's showing ofi his nails. He just got them manicured. Sal, said Lynn, did you know he owns his own service station, and he's top me- chanic at the job? Let's see who's next. Oh, yes, I read in the Youngstown Vindicator a story written by Bob Getts Cstar reporterl, stating that Bob Miller is running for Demo- cratic governor of Ohio, said Lotsie, and isn't it wonderful how so many of the class are successful? Speaking of being successful, Nancy Iulian is an understudy for Audrey Hepburn !I'll bet she never expected that when she moved to Californial. Shirley El- liott and Al are now happily married and also living in California. Hope they can make it to the reunion. I don't think Bill McBride will come, though, because he's still in Alaska, trying to find that uranium mine. Oops! were off the track again. Who's next? Terry Freisen, Oh! He's the recorder on the hit parade. tl dream of 'Ieannie with the Light Brown Hair'l. I heard it on Dial Durk's disc jockey show.l Bill Durkin is really mak- ing good. He's got his own disc jockey pro- gram. By the way, said Lotsie, Barb Downs is a hat check girl in my night club. Do you have a night club, Lotsie? Yes, Pearl. It's exclusively for sailors: its near Norfolk, Virginia. How nice! exclaimed Lynn. Did you girls know that Ieral Iohnson manages a chain of grocery stores? asked Pearl. Very successful, too. Pearl, do you know whether Rich Gonze is coming? asked Lotsie. Yes! He's com- ing. Did you know he and Tom Tyger are running a steam-bath house in down-town new York? continued Lotsie. Yes! I guess they're successful. Here they come in their Cadillac. Boy, isn't it sharp? said Sal en- thusiastically. Betty Grosbeck and Bob Hobbs are mar- ried and raising two little Bobbies, said Pearl. I guess they will come if they can get a baby sitter. Did you know that Dorothy Ioe is Dor- othy Dandridge's own personal hair dresser? Yes, Dorothy owns her own parlor down town in Hollywood, said Loretta. Ioann Krossman is still at M.H.S., said Lynn. She's taking Miss Newlun's place as a shorthand teacher. Oh, Yeah! Martin Kiel- tch is still here, too. He's president of the Board of Education. By the way, Pearl, where are you work- ing? Oh, I own my own shoe store in Youngstown. It's called Pearl's Shoe Store. Well, I guess we're back to the boys again, said Loretta. Did you know that tContinued on page 907 PAGE 20
